A Christmas Tale – Paco Plaza

You’ll know the name Paco Plaza. If you don’t, seek out [REC] immediately. Before he, with Jaume Balagueró, directed one of the best zombie movies of recent times he worked on an episode of Películas Para no Dormir (Films to Keep You Awake, the Spanish Masters of  Horror.)

The result of a bet that you could take the screenplay for Aliens, replace the xenomporphs with zombies and still get a good movie.
First of all, I made up the bet. I hope. And second of all, if the bet was real, it would have been lost. Big time.

The second episode in the Fear Itself DVD set is Brad Anderson’s Spooked.
Going in, I had the expectation that this would be one of the better episodes of the series. Everything I’ve seen from Anderson has been good, to great. And with Session 9 being one of my favourite horror movies this already [...]

Just when you thought it was safe to drink a 40 in the hood, some crazy shit happens. It’s not Blacula, Blackenstein or Darky From the Black Lagoon, it’s the Hood of Horrors, and it’s on!

There’s certainly some talent involved in this movie. The writer is responsible for the Final Destination films and the director for House and Warlock (among others.)
