Red Sands is the second collaboration between writer Simon Barrett and Director Alex Turner. Their previous movie, Dead Birds was a creepy, gory, atmospheric civil war set horror movie. And although it doesn’t contain enough dead birds to warrant the pluralization of the title, Dead Birds is definitely worth a look.

A Christmas Tale – Paco Plaza

You’ll know the name Paco Plaza. If you don’t, seek out [REC] immediately. Before he, with Jaume Balagueró, directed one of the best zombie movies of recent times he worked on an episode of Películas Para no Dormir (Films to Keep You Awake, the Spanish Masters of  Horror.)

The result of a bet that you could take the screenplay for Aliens, replace the xenomporphs with zombies and still get a good movie.
First of all, I made up the bet. I hope. And second of all, if the bet was real, it would have been lost. Big time.

Unless, of course, these vampire movies are your favorite vampire movies.
What follows are a few vampire movies that are personal favorites and are often overlooked, and a very brief reason why they are favorites.
