Zombie 4 – After Death

What to say about this one…zfe1

Well, it starts on a remote island where a bunch of scientists are trying to create a cure for cancer. Unfortunately for them the cure didn’t work (for us too, as we’d have been spared this movie if it did) and the local Voodoo priest’s daughter died. Blaming them, he decides to turn a woman into one of the demons from Lamberto  Bava’s Demons to extract revenge. After some green slime spewing, the demon hunts them zfe2down one by one. Some messy editing later we are running through the jungle with a man, woman, a little girl (possibly dubbed by an adult male) and some ninja zombies. Some more messy editing later and we arrive back on the island with the now adult girl and a band of mercenaries.

A little more messy editing and we now see there are a group of three scientists also on the island. Trying to find out why everyone disappeared. 20 years late. One of the scientists is porn star Jeff Stryker. And he’s very proud of his chest. Exploring a random cave, they come across an old book. Which they proceed to read. Cue the reappearance of Ninja Zombies. Bet you didn’t expect an old book to do that huh?

Back to the mercs.zfe3

Well, by now they also are under siege from the zombies. And may in fact have zombies among themselves. The transformation now involves spewing black sludge instead of green. A novel twist I think. Luckily for them, the hospital they are taking shelter in has a vast arsenal of automatic weapons and explosives. Really lucky, huh? It would have been had the zombie ninjas not also had weapons training.

After a while, scientists and mercenaries join forces to tackle the evil. Resulting in possible a showdown to end all showdowns. Only I can’t quite remember. I think some of the more ridiculous scenes caused my brain to stop working for a while.

zfe4You may well enjoy this watched amazingly drunk with some amazingly drunk people. Laughing at the stupidity of it all. Not funny laughing though. Kind of unbelieving laughter.

You may well, but probably won’t. I’m sure Jeff Strykers other films would probably scare most a lot more than this.

Well, that concludes this messy review of a messy film.

Zombie 4: After Death they no way allow you to forget the awful terribleness of this movie.
